As surfing is one of the fastest growing sports in Ireland, many people are taking advantage of Achill's supberb Atlantic breakers to surf for the first time. We can organise lessons for kids and adults alike or you can just hire a boar and off you go!

Keel beach on Achill Island is the perfect safe place to learn to surf. A gently sloping beach that is exposed to swells travelling from the south and west means that they have waves of some sort almost all year around.
The surf school we recommend is the only approved Irish Surfing Association school on the island, and one of only three in Mayo. Approval means that they meet or exceed the industry standard on issues of safety, equipment, tuition, child protection etc. More information can be found here at Blackfied Surf School

Windsurfing

Learn to windsurf in as little as 60 minutes! We can organise beginner lessons at Keel Lake or if your brave enough you can try windsurfing off one of Achill's five Blue Flag beaches.
