The Great Western Greenway which runs by the hotel is a wonderful facility for walkers and cyclists alike. The trail mainly follows the track of the famous Newport / Mulranny railway which closed in 1937. The Greenway is the longest off-road walking and cycling trail in Ireland passing through some of the most stunning scenery in the West of Ireland. Take a packed lunch and head off walking at your own pace or we have bikes available at the hotel for a day of 1/2 day use.
Mulranny has been listed as one of the top 10 walking destinations in Ireland by the prestigious Bridgestone Guide 2012.
Our next walking weekend will take place over the weekend of 24th - 26th February. The weekend included 2 guided walks covering the
national loop walk in Mulranny and the stunning coastal walk along track and shore. If you like to walk this is a weekend not to be missed! There is the option of short walks each day for those looking for a shorter experience.

The Great Western Greenway – Mulranny - Co. Mayo has been formally designated a European Destination of Excellence. The award recognises outstanding locally driven achievements, including the opening of the Great Western Greenway, the sensitive restoration of the stunning Mulranny Park Hotel, and the regeneration of Mulranny’s Victorian Causeway and Look Out Hill Walk. Combined with a truly spectacular location these developments enhance an already remarkable place.
